We are ending the 21/22 academic year with bumper month of free training from Food – a fact of life. We have five webinars and a virtual practical workshop coming up – we hope you can join us!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Developing skills for independent living

 

  Are you working with pupils with additional needs and want to know more about developing their skills for independent living? Particularly around planning what to cook, shopping, cooking, and eating and sharing food and drink? Join us for this webinar with two experienced additional needs teachers.

Food skills, recipes and diversity (European cuisines) virtual practical workshop – LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE!

 

  An enjoyable and interactive session looking at new recipes to Food – a fact of life from Eastern European cuisines.

Plant based diets – expanding pupil learning experiences

 

  Plant-based diets are very much in the news but there is no agreed definition of what it means to have a plant-based, or plant-rich, diet.  Although people may think of plant-based diets as being vegetarian or vegan, they do not have to be plant-only. Find out more about what makes a diet plant-based and how this fits in with a modern, diverse, and inclusive food and nutrition education for children and young people.

Healthy and sustainable diets – what needs to be considered?

 

  This webinar will introduce the different factors that must be considered when discussing a healthy and sustainable diet, and the dietary shifts that are needed to achieve this.

Tackling food waste in schools

 

  There are many reasons why food is wasted in school, but an effective way to reduce waste is to have a whole school approach. Join Dr Jason O’Rourke as he outlines the whole school approach to tackling food waste at Washingborough Academy. Hear about actions that you can take, and tips you can use, whatever your school setting.  Also, find out tips for reducing food waste in food and nutrition lessons.
