BNF Education Awards 2020

In 2020*, six BNF Education Awards will be given to secondary school teachers from around the UK (with a background in nutrition, food technology, science or home economics) who have consistently championed food and nutrition education. This may have been throughout the 2019/2020 academic year, and/or the lockdown period (highlighting specific practice in difficult circumstances).

BNF has a long history of supporting food and nutrition education in schools, starting with awarding GCSE/N5 and A-level/Advanced Higher students, and their teachers, on an annual basis since 1990. BNF then launched the Food – a fact of life education programme in 1991, which continues to this day.

The winners of the BNF Education Award will receive a framed commemorative certificate, as well as £200 to support food education in their school.

The nomination must demonstrate how they have applied accurate nutrition science into effective classroom practice or remote learning strategies. Entries must show how their teaching has had an impact on learners. Teachers must be nominated by their peers or employers.

Please complete the form below and return it to: a.white@nutrition.org.uk before 5pm on Friday 4 September 2020. Crietria and terms and conditions can be found in the form.
