Making a Living From Local Food College Course
Nourish Scotland is planning a year-long full-time course with Moray College in Elgin mostly for new entrants and early stage small food businesses. Starting in early 2020, this is a SCQF Level 6 course and Scottish students can apply to the Scottish Funding Council for a fully funded place. Core modules will range from regenerative agriculture to professional food standards and business skills required for setting up a small food enterprise. There will be optional modules on Baking for a Living, Cheese Making, Animal Husbandry, Market Gardening and more. Students will be required to work in a placement and be assessed through completing practical tasks and personal development journalling.
If you are interested and want to be kept up to date on how this develops, please get in touch by sending a note of interest, stating a little bit about why you are interested in this course, to localfood@nourishscotland.org.uk.
