New FDF Scotland food labelling classroom resource
FDF Scotland is delighted to announce that they have created an exciting new resource: Understanding and using food labels, which has been endorsed by Food Standards Scotland and the Scottish Government.
In an easy to use PowerPoint format, this classroom resource has been designed as a teaching aid to help pupils/students understand how to read and interpret the information contained on a manufactured food product label, in order to enable them to make informed food choices.
The resource covers;
The information that legally needs to be on a food label;
The 14 food and substances that commonly cause allergic reactions and where to find them on the label;
How to read, understand and interpret ingredients lists and nutrition information.
