PDA Data Science is validated

I’m pleased to let you know that the Professional Development Award in Data Science at SCQF Levels 7, 8 and 9 is now validated. The validation event in June placed some conditions on the proposed awards and we’ve been working on those conditions over the summer. The convener of the panel has now lifted the conditions.

It’s taken us longer than normal to do this. We hoped to have the award available to centres by 1 September but it’s going to take a week or two to “operationalise” the qualification, which means coding everything and publishing the group award specification and the unit specifications. The subject page will be available soon and the units will start to appear on the SQA website from early next week.

It’s been a large development, spanning three levels and involving the creation of a lot of new units in  data science. But we’re pretty pleased with the final product. These qualifications will be ideal for newcomers to data science (the Level 7 award is designed for anyone who wants to learn about the field) and also people who want to specialise in the field (the Level 9 award is designed for people who want to become data analysts or data engineers). Level 7 is particularly exciting because we think it’s ideal for every “knowledge worker” — which means almost everyone.

We’re currently creating a FAQ for the new suite of awards, which will be ready next week. This will tell you more about the qualification and include links to the subject page and the component units.

These new qualifications will join the existing NPAs in Data Science and the forthcoming HND Data Science to form a comprehensive suite of awards in this important field in computer science.

Please contact Emma for more information about the PDAs.

There are three options that you can use to bet on CSGO. The first option is similar to the other betting, and the only differences are the games. You will predict the results of any of the games on your bookie platform. The team you choose can win, lose, or draw. The odds that a team has reflects the possibility of it losing or winning. The more the odds a team has, the higher the chances of that team losing and vice versa.
