Yammer network
This time last year, I posted a message about our planned use of Yammer during 2022. In that message, I explained that we had (successfully) used various (free) mailing lists to communicate with you but that these all, eventually, stop working and that we planned to move all support to Yammer since this is included in Microsoft 365 subscriptions and is part of Glow, the school network. Also, since it’s backed by Microsoft, it’s unlikely to go the way of Egroups, SmartGroups and GroupSpaces.
We met with mixed success. For whatever reason, Yammer didn’t produce the engagement we achieved with mailing lists. But we plan to keep trying during 2023. Over 300 educators have joined the Computing network on Yammer and we hope more join this year. Me and my team will check it regularly and respond to anything that you post. There are dedicated groups for various qualifications (such as NPA Esports and NPA Data Science) and also groups for special projects (such as Next Gen). We recently created a new group for Competence Based Qualifications (SVQs).
The dedicated groups for specific qualifications are a great way for you to ask for help and support. You can subscribe to the groups if you prefer to get your updates via email. Throughout this year, we will encourage you to use Yammer since, I’m sure, anything that you need help with will be useful to others.
Megan has special responsibility for Yammer. Please contact her if you need any help with joining the network.
