Teaching and learning material for NPA Cyber Security
I recently mentioned that we received Scottish Government funding to develop teaching and learning material for NPA Cyber Security (at all three levels). Since then, we’ve formed a development team consisting of practising teachers and lecturers who will be responsible for developing the new material. The team consists of experienced classroom teachers (and a college lecturer), most of whom are currently delivering the qualification.
The aim of the project is to develop a complete curricular package to help teachers and lecturers deliver the award — and encourage more centres to offer it in the future. The first stage in the project is to ask practitioners what they want. To that end, we’ll be issuing a questionnaire to centres to ask exactly that — What do you want? How do you want it? And when?
The “when?” is already known in reality, since we’ve pledged to have the new material available to schools and colleges by next March (with a launch event in April). Before we do that, sometime later this year, we’ll be looking for pilot centres to trial the material.
Look out for the invitation to complete the survey in the near future. In the meantime, contact Emma if you want to know more about this development.
