PDA Data Science – subject page now live
Regular followers of the blog will be aware that the PDA Data Science units have been available for some weeks. I am pleased to advise that the final steps for operationalising the award have now been completed, namely the coding of the group awards, and the subject page.
The Group Award codes are:
PDA Data Science at SQCF level 7 – GR68 47
PDA Data Science at SCQF level 8 – GR67 48
PDA Data Science at SCQF level 9 – GR66 49
The subject page is now live on the SQA website. The subject page provides general information about the awards and includes a link to the Group Award Specification (GAS). All relevant information related to the awards, eg background, rationale, entry requirements, structure, delivery patterns, etc., can be found in the GAS.

[…] Because Computing is the only subject area with two qualifications involved in the first phase, I’ve asked Emma to take over HNC Computing from Helen. This means that Emma is the lead officer for HNC Computing and Helen is the lead officer for HND Data Science. Many of you will know Emma from her work with non-advanced qualifications and SVQs, and she recently led the PDA Data Science development. […]
Thus, Helen is the lead officer for HND Data Science and Emma is the lead officer for HNC Computing.
This post was very enlightening. Appreciate the effort!
