HNC/D Computer Games Development is now validated
I was delighted to discover this morning that the conditions and recommendations imposed by the Validation Panel at the recent validation event have now been addressed and the award is now validated. That was great news.
The development started in May last year, so it’s taken a while but I think that the final form of the qualification looks great. The QDT has made several improvements to the existing qualification – including a new approach to mathematics – and generally updated the contents to reflect current practice in game software development.
We will now operationalise the revised awards (the HNC and the HND). That involves coding everything, add it to our databases, publishing information – among other tasks. Although there is a lot to do, I hope to have the revised qualifications available to centres from January.
I’d like to thank every member of the QDT, and particularly the Lead Developer, for their hard work over the last 18 months, and also the members of the Validation Panel for their late improvements to the awards.
Please contact Helen if you want to know more about the new qualifications.
