CyberFirst Girls Competition 2020

CyberFirst is a key part of the UK government’s National Cyber Security Programme. It covers a broad range of activities, which includes a girls only competition. Young girls and women don’t often consider a career in cyber security, which means that industry is missing out on a lot of young talented people. This competition is a great start to get young girls motivated and interested in this sector.

Teams are made up of up to four girls, who have to work their way through a series of online cyber challenges.

The 2020 CyberFirst Girls Competition will include a Scotland final, on Saturday 8th February. The winning team will be guaranteed a place in the UK Grand Final in Wales in March.

You can read some testimonials in the blog post from Hyndland Secondary, who came 18th in the UK last year.

Registration closes on 21st January 2020, so sign up quickly!

Hi Emma,

This competition is for ‘young girls’, can you please let me know the age restrictions as some of our students may not be classed as ‘young’.

Thank you
