Beano first edition at Kelvin Hall
For one day only, on 28 July 2018, the first ‘Beano’ ever published will be on display at the National Library of Scotland at Kelvin Hall. Visitors will be able to see original artwork from D C Thomson’s archives. There will also be activities for children.
European Championships Glasgow 2018
From 2 – 12 August Glasgow and Berlin host the European Championships. Alongside the fantastic sporting events taking place in and around Glasgow, there is a cultural festival where you can see the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland, as well as Gaelic events, including a mass ceilidh! Glasgow’s Sporting Heritage Talk- Wednesday 1st August 2018
In August Glasgow will co-host the inaugural European Championships. Around 4,500 athletes will descend on the city to compete in this multi-sport event which includes aquatics, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, triathlon and golf.

Despite recent tragic events at the Glasgow School of Art, the Mackintosh 150 festival will be bringing to the city a programme of events throughout 2018 to celebrate the incredible legacy of Charles Rennie Mackintosh as a Scottish architect, designer and artist.
