QDT for PDA Software Development
I’ve previously announced the development of a new PDA in Software Development. The Qualification Development Team (QDT) met for the first time this morning in the Glasgow office. It’s a good team, consisting of representatives schools, colleges, universities, professional bodies and employers, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field.
The meeting covered the role of the QDT, the qualification development process, and tasks and timescales. We had a particularly good conversation about what should be in the qualification and possible structures. There was agreement on many things. The qualification should exist at various levels; it should be hierarchical; it should be “tight” and focus on software development; and it should have a simple structure. There was also a lot of agreement on what should be in it: software design, software implementation and software testing were all identified as key skills.
The next stage is to identify a Lead Developer, who will have the job of driving the project forward.
The qualification will be available to centres from January 2016. Contact Caroline if you want to know more about this development or join the QDT.
