NPA Computing validation
This development is progressing well and the validation will take place on Friday, 24 May. The purpose of a validation event is for an independent group of experts to review the proposed qualification to ensure that it’s fit for purpose. The validation panel will ensure that the title of the qualification is appropriate, its aims and entry requirements are sensible, the contents are correct, and progression pathways have been considered. The outcome of validation is either that the qualification is accepted as-is or the panel asks for changes, which the qualification team will carry out.
The validation event is a milestone in the development of a qualification but we’re also working on a large number (14) of new units covering areas such as computing foundations, networking, AI and emerging digital technology. Units are validated separately by SQA officers. Once both units and the group award are validated, the qualification will be coded and published.
