Grade Boundaries

As I said in my previous blog, we have now reached Grade Boundaries in the procedural process. The Grade Boundary is a vital part of the whole process where we set the C, A and upper A pass marks. This involves meeting the Principal Assessor and Principal Verifier, reading a large amount of statistics and other information, and then making a decision on what the pass mark will be. Once an agreement has been made we meet with the Qualifications Development Director, Head of Service and sometimes the CEO to discuss the assessments (Coursework and Exam Paper) and then discuss how we reached the decision we have come to regarding the pass mark. Once this has been discussed, the pass marks are put into the system ready for certificates to be issued.
This is nearly the end of the whole process, after Grade Boundary we then have a final meeting where we look at Exceptional Circumstance cases.
