Computing Conference 2019
I’m pleased to let you know that this year’s Vocational Computing Conference will take place Friday, 1 February at Jury’s Inn in Glasgow. This is a long-standing event, which goes back (at least) 20 years. It provides an opportunity to meet face-to-face, and network with colleagues from other centres. Although the focus is college qualifications, there has been an increasing school presence due to the popularity of some National Progression Awards, such as the NPA Cyber Security. Of course, all educators are welcome.
This year’s event follows the normal formula — keynote, qualification updates and networking. This year’s keynote will be delivered by the man behind the review of HN qualifications, who will explain what that involves and how things are progressing. “HN Next Gen” is a big deal for colleges since it has the potential to alter the nature of all HN awards. We will also take the opportunity to tell you how various developments are going, including the NPA Data Science, which will be of interest to school representatives (and others).
Registration for the event is open now. You can sign-up here. Or contact Caitlin if you want to know more about the event.
