Women in Computing survey

Many of you will be aware of the gender problems in Computing, both in the workplace and in education. I’ve posted about this problem previously. It appears to be getting worse. Computing is now the worst subject (from a gender perspective) in the worst sector (STEM), overtaking Engineering as the most male dominated subject area. Women in digital media in decline

A recent report by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills shows that the proportion of women working in the digital sector has fallen from 33% (in 2002) to 26% (in 2014). Both figures are significantly below the average for all sectors (47%). The report points out that this decline comes at a time of rising demand for skills in this area.
