Esports units
Regular readers will know that we’re currently developing a new National Progression Award in Esports at SCQF Levels 4, 5 and 6. In total, nine new units will be developed.

- Esports: The Esports Industry (SCQF Level 5)
- Esports: The Esports Industry (SCQF Level 6)
- Esports: Game Performance (SCQF Level 4)
- Esports: Game Performance (SCQF Level 5)
- Esports: Game Performance (SCQF Level 6)
- Esports: Organising & Promoting Events (SCQF Level 4)
- Esports: Organising & Promoting Events (SCQF Level 5)
- Esports: Organising & Promoting Events (SCQF Level 6)
A team of writers and vetters has been created to develop these units, consisting of experienced and enthusiastic school teachers and college lecturers. Training took place on Monday and unit writing is now underway. The units will be complete by mid-June and published on the SQA website over the Summer.
Although the units form part of the NPA, they can also be delivered on a stand-alone basis. I expect units such as Game Performance to be popular in its own right. As well as being interesting and engaging for learners, the units will deliver a range of academic competencies.
