Cyber Security launch event

The launch event for the new qualifications in Cyber Security took place yesterday in the Stirling Highland Hotel. There was an excellent attendance, on a beautiful day, with 90 people attending both sessions. Sixty five schools and ten colleges were represented at the event, with representatives of regional councils, universities and employers also in attendance.

The agenda included a lot of interesting talks, not just about the contents of the awards but also about the growing importance of cyber security, including the excellent job prospects in the area.

An information pack was given out to delegates, which included a USB drive with digital copies of the documentation and presentations. Please contact Gail if you would like a copy sent to you.

It was clear from the event that there is a great deal of interest in these new qualifications. I expect them to be popular in schools and colleges in the coming years. I’m delighted that Scotland is the first country in Europe to introduce national qualifications in cyber security into schools. Contact Helen for more information about the qualifications.
