Oracle Academy seminar

I attended an Oracle Academy seminar in Glasgow yesterday afternoon to promote the links between the Academy programme and SQA awards. Although our links with Oracle are part of the DIVA project, it pre-dates that programme and, over the years, it has developed into a popular qualification in Scottish colleges. There are links between Oracle Academy and HNC Computing, HNC Computer Networking and HNC IT awards. Visit to Clydebank College

I visited Clydebank College yesterday to have a look at the new campus. It’s very impressive. The location is fantastic – right beside the Clyde. I taught there from 1984 to 1990 and it was great to meet old colleagues such as Graeme Downey and Bob McAllister. I’m still recovering from lunch in the training dining room. Visit to John Wheatley College to assist with the new NC awards

There was a good turn-out with around 20 lecturers, from both the Computing and Design teams, attending. National Certificate Level 6 validation event

The validation event for the proposed NC Digital Media Computing at Level 6 took place on Friday… and was approved without conditions! There were several (eight) recommendations. The Development Team were delighted with this outcome since it is unusual for no conditions to be placed on an award.
