150 graduates from CodeClan

CodeClan was formed to help to address the digital skills shortage in Scotland, specifically the shortage of programmers. It reached a milestone this week when its 150th graduate joined The Register of Scotland in a programming post.

CodeClan offers the PDA in Software Development to all of its students. I recently attended its first award ceremony in its HQ in Edinburgh. It was great to see so many young, and not so young, people enter the IT industry.

The PDA was designed as a short, intensive course in coding. It’s available at SCQF Levels 7, 8 and 9 (graduate level) and takes 120 hours to complete. It covers the design, development and testing of software. One of the units pulls all of this together into a project. Contact Helen if you want to know more about the award.
