No change to groups

Forget the previous post. I misunderstood the proposed changes to Groupspaces – so we can continue as normal. The reason that I don’t just delete the original post is that the misunderstanding prompted me and my team to discuss the current groups, which was a useful discussion. So we plan to make some of the changes. The special purposes groups (Sector Panel, Qualification Support Team, etc.) will not change but we plan to roll-up the subject groups into more generic groups: one for schools, one for colleges and one for training providers.

We create new (private) groups for each development (for members of the QDT) and the plan is to open up the membership of this private group, once the development is finished, to provide dedicated support for new qualifications. We’ll keep these “nursery” groups open for a year or two before asking members to join one of the more generic groups described above (and closing the nursery group). We won’t create public groups for every new qualification but we will for high uptake developments.
