New qualification development process

Another topic discussed at the recent team meeting was how to improve the way that we develop qualifications. We think that we take longer than we should so we have devised new processes to speed things up.

We will classify developments as minor, intermediate and major depending on how long we think the development will take. We will aim to complete minor developments in three months, intermediate ones in six months, and major ones in twelve months. We have streamlined processes to make that possible. Previously, some major developments were taking between 18 to 24 months.

We plan to improve project management and make more use of technology to do this. We already use a range of technologies (Onedrive, e-groups, etc.) but we will make more use of these technologies in future developments – as well as use some new technologies (such as Skype).

A number of developments are about to commence so we’ll be putting the new processes to the test in the near future.
