On Tuesday 10 August, learners across Scotland received results for their Nationals, Highers, Advanced Highers, and a whole series of other courses, certificates, and awards.
Congratulations once again on your achievements, following what has been an incredibly challenging year.
These results will allow you to make the next step in your learning journey and, like any other year, you can be assured that your results will be recognised by employers, training providers, universities and colleges.
Below is a summary of support available to you if you have questions about your results or planning your next step, including key dates for appealing your results.
ABOUT YOUR RESULTS
There are results missing from my certificate – who do I contact?
If you have any questions about your results, or if there are results missing from your certificate that you were expecting to see, you should contact your school, college or training provider in the first instance.
I haven’t received my certificate – how can I find out my results?
If you had problems receiving your results on Tuesday 10 August, your school, college or training provider will be able to tell you your results.
You can also sign up to MySQA to view your results online.
My certificate is damaged/my name is spelled incorrectly – how do I get a new one?
If your certificate has been damaged in the post, or there is an error on your certificate, your school or college can request a new one for you. Speak to you teachers or lecturers when you return to school or college.

APPEALING YOUR RESULTS
I have not yet registered with SQA that I want to appeal – can I still appeal?
Until midnight on Thursday 12 August, you can register that you want to appeal directly on the SQA website. This webpage includes information you will need to complete the registration form and information on things you should consider when deciding whether you want to appeal – please read this guide before you complete the registration form.
After this date, your teacher or lecturer can still submit an appeal for you.
If you have a conditional offer at university or college and your place is dependent on the grade you wish to appeal, your teacher or lecturer can submit a priority appeal for you until Tuesday 24 August.
You can also ask your teacher or lecturer to submit all other appeals for you by Friday 27 August.
You will need to have a conversation with your teacher or lecturer and hear their professional view as to whether an appeal is in your best interests. The final decision to appeal is yours.

I have registered that I want to appeal – what happens now?
SQA will have informed your school, college or training provider that you have registered that you want to appeal.
Now that you have received your Scottish Qualifications Certificate, you should have another discussion about your options with your teacher or lecturer, as you did before 25 June, and hear their professional view as to whether an appeal is in your best interests. You should do this even if you have left school.
The final decision to appeal is yours. If you decide to go ahead, you will not need to do anything else.
If you’d like to withdraw an appeal you need to provide details of the subject/level that you want to withdraw. You can do this using this form.

Where can I find information about university and college admissions?
If you didn’t get the results you were hoping for, or you did better than you expected, the Universities & Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) will be happy to speak to you and give you some guidance on what to do next. Visit their website or call 0800 100 900.
Where can I find careers advice?
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Advisors can provide you with information on course vacancies at UK colleges and universities as well as on confirmation and clearing. They can also tell you about Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships, jobs, volunteering or staying on at school. The SDS Results Helpline is available until Wednesday 18 August.
