TEACHERS AND LECTURERS CONSIDERING THE NEW SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY UNITS

To support the introduction of social anthropology units into Scottish schools and colleges, the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI) and Scottish universities are offering a day of short talks and discussion to help you plan for teaching these units.

The event will be held on Tuesday 30th May at Charteris Land, University of Edinburgh, Holyrood Road, EH8 8AQ. Registration is 10 for 10:30am. If your school or college is able to release you to attend, please contact Joy Hendry (jhendry@brookes.ac.uk), and let her know the particular aspects of the subject that interest you. Lunch will be provided and the event will conclude by 3.30pm.

Social anthropologists from Aberdeen, Edinburgh and St. Andrews and a member of the teachers’ training department in Moray House, will be joined by anthropology graduates who work out in the real world, teachers who bring their experience of teaching anthropology at A-level in England, and the education officer at the RAI.
