Scots Language – Scots in Schools Conference

Last Thursday we ran a couple of workshops at Education Scotland’s Scots in Schools conference. It was a really interesting day, with Alasdair Allan launching the Scottish Government’s Scots Language Policy, a keynote address from James Robertson, and a chance to meet Hamish MacDonald, the new Scots Scriever.

Scots Language – ASLS Event

The Association for Scottish Literary Studies are an organisation who work to promote Scottish Literature across different areas. Their website has a wealth of resources for Scots Language and Scottish Studies, and they also produce material supporting the Scottish set texts in English. They also run competitions, produce various different publications, and more.

Their annual schools conference is on Saturday the 3rd of October, and will be held at Glasgow University. This is aimed at secondary teachers, and there will be a short presentation from Education Scotland dedicated to Scots Language materials.
