Sector Panel meeting

The Sector Panel for Computing met on Friday in Glasgow. The purpose of the Panel is to provide strategic guidance to SQA on such things as employment trends and technological change. There are representatives of industry, business, schools, colleges, universities and third sector organisations on the Panel. Over 20 members attended.

We took the opportunity to update members about recent changes to the qualification portfolio, particularly the forthcoming HNC Cyber Security. Chris Morrow, of the Tech Partnership, updated members about developments in National Occupational Standards, including new Graduate Level Apprenticeship in Cyber Security (SCQF Level 10 and Level 11).

The Sector Panel meets annually but communicates throughout the year using a private online group. Hopefully, the members themselves get something out of it by finding out more about qualification developments.

Please contact Helen if you want to know more about the work of the Panel or want to find out how to become a member.
