NPA Data Science – Additional Support Materials

Further to Bobby’s blog post a couple of weeks ago, we have managed to secure some funding to produce additional support materials for the newly developed NPA Data Science. We are currently producing support materials for all of the mandatory units, so the additional funding will go towards producing materials for some (most) of the optional units, ie:

  1. J2G6 45 – Machine Learning (SCQF Level 5)
  2. J2G6 46 – Machine Learning (SCQF Level 6)
  3. J2GT 45 – Data Science Project (SCQF Level 5)
  4. J2GT 46 – Data Science Project (SCQF Level 6)

Hopefully, this will be a good help to teachers delivering the new NPA. As with the support materials for the mandatory units, the new materials for these units will be on SOLAR.

If you would be interested in writing/peer reviewing any of these units, please add your name to the Register of Interest, which you can access via the following link: Support Materials RoI

Please register your interest by Monday, 23rd September.

[…] We’d like to do something similar for the recently developed NPA Data Science. There are many parallels with cyber security. Both areas are new and challenging — and teachers want to learn about both areas but need help to do so. There’s no additional funding this time so I plan to create a short life working group (SLWG) to identify what teachers need, and explore how it could be provided. We’ve made a start by agreeing to provide additional assessments. […]

How are you gathering the information? When you run a trial, you have to make sense of some method for depicting the contrasts between the two plant, numerically. You could have estimated the statures of the two plants to demonstrate a distinction and you would have information that you could use to depict the 920 review
