College Cyber Security Conference

The College Development Network held its first annual Cyber Security Conference yesterday, as part of Cyber Security Week. The Conference was opened by Kate Forbes, Minister for Public Finance & Digital Economy. It was gratifying to hear Kate make reference to the range of qualifications in cyber security available to learners in Scottish colleges and schools. She made explicit mention of the NPA and HNC awards, currently available to centres, and the forthcoming HND.

I was invited to deliver a workshop on the qualifications available to colleges. The interest in the qualifications was reflected the number of people who selected the workshop. My presentation covered the range of qualifications and materials available to centres. You can download it here: CDN workshop.

The event was the first of a regular annual event for Scottish colleges. I enjoyed it a great deal and plan to return next year.

Please contact computing@sqa.org.uk if you want to know more about our qualifications.

The conference of this kind made it possible to cover the range of qualifications required for a current training. The graduates receive the optimum amount of knowledge.
